Meeting Mr Stanley Francis age 100 World War 2 Veteran Royal Air Force

An epic story of from a veteran who, as a young boy, wanted some excitement and fun. The idea of enlisting in the Royal Air Force very much appealed to him shortly after leaving. Travelling from his world and existence in Jamaica to Mother a England was quite an experience. The sense of adventure and youthful exuberance propelled him and his colleagues to achieve their best, both in schooling and out in the big wide world.

Conclusion

Another example of how it was back in times of conflict when Britain needed to defend its shores, and many Caribbean nations decided to engage and help it defend itself. Although very young, Stanley did what he had to do and did it very well. His experience and excitement is a joy to behold.

Editor’s Note

Yet another story of how it was decades ago, in times of conflict, but also experiencing the lack of knowledge that the indigenous people of Britain had about people of African descent. There was a general perception that black people had tails, as Stanley said.
